We are offering nucs this spring.   Some details are here:

• Nucs are 4.5 deep frame nucs.  That means 4 deep frames of bees, brood, and food, plus an extra drawn comb frame recently added.  This allows for some expansion of the colony and should reduce the swarm risk (which can easily happen for 5 frame nucs). 

• We're buying these nucs from a reputable, large beekeeper so they're not from our bees.  The queens are being raised in South Carolina.  That's the only way nucs are available in April in PA.

• Cost is $169 each.  This is less than typical 5 frame nucs because they are only 4.5 frames...

• Nucs come in a plastic Pro-nuc box that requires a $20 deposit.  If/When you return the box, your deposit will be returned.  You can keep the box if you like.

• They should be available by mid-April but that can change depending on the weather.

• We are looking for a $89 deposit on order , then the rest at pickup.  We'll refund the deposit if requested by April 1.  After that, we can't return the deposit because we will have committed to taking the nucs and we don't want to be stuck with paying for lots of bees.
